For continuity, it is expected that the Vice President will normally succeed as President, subject to confirmation through election. The President will be invited to continue in the role of Past President until succession in the role. The Treasurer will also normally serve as CEO.

Nominations and Appointments: Officers

The roles of President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer are chosen by the Society members through election.

The remaining officer roles are appointed by the President, subject to ratification by the Board of Directors.

A Call for Nominations for the roles of Officers in the Society will be announced at the annual meeting (ICDVRAT or ICVR) or by September 15, whichever occurs first, in the year before an election occurs. All nominations must be received by July 1. Ballot papers will be issued (electronically) by September 1 and must be returned by November 1. Only regular members of the Society are eligible.

The next Call will be for Nominations for the post of Treasurer:

Nominations open: October 3, 2012

Nomination period close: October 31, 2012

Election Ballot issue: November 7, 2012

Voting period close: November 22, 2012

Results Announced: December 7, 2012

If no nominations are received the Board will make an appointment from within the membership of the Board. Any such appointment can be for the full term of the appointment.

 

Nominations : Board Members

The Board of Directors shall comprise members of the Society. There is no limit to the number of Directors, save that there should be sufficient to fulfill the executive function of the society. The Board aspires to elect three new members to the Board in each year, as longer serving members of the Board stand down. Elections to the Board will follow the same timetable as elections for Officers.

The period of office for a member of the Board is nominally three years with a second term available on re-election.
